At times we are the words we speak. At times we are the silence in between those words. In actual fact in our ever word focused times- with emails and texts being the preferred method to face to face communication, we lose the art of reading the eyes, the body and take it all on word value.

And we know from healing texts, from poetry that has moved and inspired us, the power of words, of language threaded together. So the choice of words, the intention behind them is paramount. Don Miguel Ruiz in the 4 Agreements says to be “impeccable” with our words. How truly impeccable are we?

In esoteric, new age, spiritual circles……and what do those words mean these days….basically those who call themselves spiritual, channellers, connected to the light..and on the terms go- we can find an array of phrases. Love and Light, Stories, this is your story, this is my story, this is your drama, its all meant to be, this is your learning, its fate and on. By themselves these words are neither right or wrong- they just are. And at times these same words can be healing, revealing, profound. Indeed we all carry our stories around with us, indeed we can all create our own dramas, indeed love and light are wondrous things to create more of in our lives. But what happens when we start to use words as weapons, when we start to use those same spiritual phrases to have control over someone, or even more sadly to prove we are right and they are “wrong”.

This is your drama……what does that mean? What drama? Whose? And how does saying that help the person? Or really is what being said actually- this is your fault…..I am blameless. This is a learning for you. What does that mean? I dont sympathise, I wont empathise? Love and Light signed off at the end of an email reprimanding someone, blaming someone, attacking someone. Let’s be honest here. If your intention is to prove you are right, if your intention is to reprimand someone, saying love and light at the end of it all does not sweeten the blow. It merely rubbishes that phrase for those who are using it with integrity.

We need to engage with words, as we write them, read them, speak them. To know each word has energy, and that comes from the energy with which it came through you, with which it was intended. If you intend to hurt someone Love and Light can be just as painful as not.

We have a responsibility with the words we use and how. We have a responsibility to everything around us- for all is connected. If you are busy telling someone else they are playing out a drama- well as we are all connected – then ask yourself how you may be contributing to that drama? We cannot blame our neighbour and not look at ourselves to see how we may also have something to address in us.

Even if we were utterly purer than pure, without any malice or judgement in us- we would still not have the right to look to another and judge with our words. Use words to speak your TRUTH. Be sure it is your TRUTH. Not a reaction, not defensiveness, not ego, not agenda, not projection- it is authentic to you, it is your TRUTH, it comes from the heart. Anything less than that has no place being afforded phrases of so called spirituality, because the intention behind them is lacking in any authentic connection. For as we know, when in that space of Divine connection- we seek not to attack, or blame- just to speak our Truth. And honour it.
