We go through many phases in our Spiritual Journey. From the Awakening, to Disillusionment, to a Re-membering, to feeling empowered and somewhere along that track we reach a blessed place of Surrender.

In the Awakening, all is new, or so it seems- we are like a child making all these discoveries- energies, connections, synchronicities- everything is a kaleidoscope of discovery, almost everything seems blessed and linked- as it is of course. Yet there are also obstacles, trickster energies, and lessons to be learned. For when too open to the bliss of all we are more than likely to lack discernment and more than that individuality. And so from this space there will often be an event however small or large that precipitates the Disillusionment. For me that is when the Journey truly begins. When we are at a space of loss, loss of understanding. When we look at the same view we had of the world of Spirit and start to re- asses. Start to see that much as is in Nature-there are forces within and without to be mindful of- and not all is for us. It is important to know who we truly are- and this stage can allow for that. For a fish to try and fly will create pain, for a bird to want to go deep into the ocean will cause pain. Some animals can traverse different planes- they can walk and fly, swim and fly- they can dance between the elements of Water, Earth and Sky. But this is not the path for EVERY animal/species.

So it’s important we find our element/s- our pathway- if we are the fish then relish the waves, if we are the bird then relish flight. Part of the growth we undergo is to be aware of our own unique make up- and to celebrate that than spend a lifetime trying to be something we are not here to be. And if we walk in amongst all of the elements- if we jump in between many worlds- then the learning may well be balance and self mastery. So from this stage of feeling tricked, or feeling like we never really had the answers and all our revelations were but mirages comes a new way of connecting- a more grounded and truthful phase. After the Honeymoon period we Re-member who we truly are and what connecting to Spirit truly means for us. Not for our neighbours but for us.

And from here we are the path to Self Mastery and to true alignment with our Divinity. When we come to a place of Surrender it is not defeatism, it is an acceptance that there is a part of us- our Higher Self, our Monadic, I AM Presence and Great Spirit that sees and knows far more than our limited human confined mind could know. That when we Surrender into the arms of Spirit and that Inner Knowing we are led to that which is for our Greatest Good- it may not come in the packaging we were expecting but it will be just what we need. And it will be what we have been asking for all along …the Truth of what we were asking- not that new car but Freedom, not that particular person but Love in all its glory.

Surrender comes when we have travelled across and through our deepest selves- when we have visited the lightest and the darkest parts of our souls and relinquish control to something greater than us. It is not passive- it is not about sitting in the middle of a motorway and saying I surrender to God saving me…it is not being oblivious to paying your bills and saying I surrender to what is best for me. It is not foolish and it does not abdicate responsibility of firmly being in the physical realm.

We are here for a reason- we are here to be that bridge between the above and the  below- between heaven and earth. To connect that Higher aspect of ourselves with this earthly realm- and in so doing bring all that wisdom and all that medicine here. We know we have that Higher aspect because we  feel it at varying times in life. When in meditation, when healing, when journeying, when we connect with a breathtaking view of nature, when in Love.

Surrender means to accept that that Higher part of us is linked to all there is and all there will be. And that in time, when the conditions are right all that we are aligned with shall come to us. And we  can be aligned to unknown riches in every way when we have done the work to clear the obstacles and the wounds in us. When our prayers are for healing to happen at the deepest level and for us to be in a state of Grace, Truth and Love.

So in this place- we throw out the vision boards, we throw out the manifesting “tricks” and we surrender our desires in the knowledge that as we move ever closer to our connection with Spirit, with our Higher Self. We move ever closer to the source of all that is and so we move ever closer to being in total alignment with all our heart desires. All we need do now is get out the way and allow it to flow towards us. Being busy “manifesting” means we are busy looking in one direction- when the Truth for us may in fact lie in another. So communicate with Spirit, with your Guides and with your Heart- and be shown the way, and surrender then to that knowledge.
